At Bowker Insurance, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed and that begins with healthy vision. That’s why we’re proud to support Michigan KidSight, a program dedicated to identifying preventable and treatable vision problems in children across Michigan.
Michigan KidSight screens children as young as one year old using a high-tech, non-invasive mobile vision screener. In just one second, the device accurately identifies common vision disorders such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, unequal pupil size, and eye alignment concerns, with a 98% accuracy rate.
Early detection is critical. When vision problems are identified early, up to 95% can be corrected. Without screening and timely care, vision loss can become permanent—impacting a child’s learning, confidence, and overall development.
When a potential issue is detected, parents or guardians receive a clear report and guidance for follow-up care with an optometrist or ophthalmologist, helping children get the support they need as early as possible.
This month, for every referral we receive, Bowker Insurance will donate $10 to support the Michigan KidSight program.
